The Village of Babylon is honoring the life of Ralph Scordino this Friday with a vigil in the downtown.
The late mayor died unexpectedly last month at his second home upstate, to what is believed to have been a heart attack. He was 71.
At 6 p.m., the village will be hosting the “Light the Night Tribute” at Argyle Park. The event will be led by newly-appointed mayor Mary Adams.
Around the area’s business district, storefronts will also have window-adhesive battery-operated candles to commemorate Scordino.
“Mayor Scordino absolutely loved Babylon Village, and we are honored to sponsor a candlelight vigil for him,” said Kelly Peckholdt, head of the Babylon Village Chamber of Commerce.
