The Spring Fling Art and Music Festival is all set for this weekend in Babylon Village.
The Fling is run by the Babylon Village Chamber of Commerce, and features live musical performances, artisan craft vendors and plenty of fun for kids from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday. There’s also a hugely popular chalk art contest on James Street.
The weekend is capped off by sidewalk sales on Sunday.
Saturday especially is a day that village merchant John Murray of Kilwins Chocolates, Fudge and Ice Cream looks forward to every year.
“It is an excellent event, great for families,” Murray said. “It really showcases all the great things Babylon offers. And it has grown every year. Really looking forward to this weekend.”
Babylon Village officials issued a notice Thursday detailing Saturday’s road closures, which will be in effect from 8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m.
During that time, Deer Park Avenue will be closed between Main Street and Railroad Avenue. Fire Island Avenue will be closed from Main Street to Prospect Street.
The roads will not be closed Sunday.
