Bay Shore school board reaches agreement to defer salary increases amid staff layoffs

|

The Bay Shore School District made a public statement on Monday announcing that the Board of Education reached an agreement with the school administration for a salary increase deferment following the dozens of recent layoffs to teachers and other faculty.

This includes pay freezes for all administrators in the district.

District officials said in the statement that the general membership of the Bay Shore Classroom Teachers Association will vote on a package this week.

Conversations with the district’s bargaining units are still ongoing.
