Bayport-Blue Point celebrates homecoming 2025, Phantoms rout SWR

|

The Bayport-Blue Point community came together Saturday for homecoming 2025, with students, families and alumni filling the streets and stadium to celebrate the annual event.

The day kicked off with a parade that ran from Blue Point Elementary to the high school. Marchers included varsity and youth cheerleaders, youth football players, the James Wilson Young Middle School and high school bands, the homecoming court and student-created floats featuring video game themes.

At Bob Sullivan Field, fans watched the Bayport-Blue Point’s varsity squad shut down and shut out Shoreham-Wading River, 48-0. The high school marching band performed a tribute to community member Lenore Ringer-Prezioso before kickoff.

Halftime featured the debut of the school’s new dance team, varsity cheerleading routines, and the induction of the district’s 2025 Hall of Fame honorees: educator and coach Neil Zarcone, community contributor Stephen Cannone, Class of 2014 baseball player Jack Piekos, and Class of 2011 lacrosse player Loren Generi.
