Nassau County Police are investigating a potential double homicide that left two adults dead Thursday morning at a local deli.
Nassau cops responded to an emergency call at 9:11 a.m. to the A & A Italian Deli and Pizza, located at 4240 Hicksville Road, and found a man and a woman with fatal injuries, police said.
Regular customers at the scene discussed the family that ran the deli.
Customers said the decades-old business was owned by a couple, who ran the shop with help from their sons and daughter, Newsday reported.
After walking into the deli and not seeing the couple, Joe Boros, 97, suddenly saw the couple’s son exiting the back of the store, the deli customer said in the report.
“He walked out and he said, ‘I stabbed my parents,’ and then he nonchalantly walked out. I just don’t understand,” Boros told Newsday.
The Nassau County Homicide Squad is leading the investigation, authorities said. Police have not released the identities of the victims, nor any other circumstances surrounding the deaths.
