When the Bethpage Air Show at Jones Beach started in 2004, the U.S. Navy Blue Angels were there to headline it.
It was just announced the Blue Angels are sure to be back for the 20th anniversary event this summer. The 2024 dates are Saturday, May 25, and Sunday, May 26.
“We are thrilled to welcome the United States Navy Blue Angels back to Long Island for our 20th Anniversary show,” stated George Gorman of the NYS Office of Parks, Recreation and Historical Preservation. “For the past 20 years, we have had the distinct pleasure of producing a show that has grown to become one of the country’s most respected air shows, and along with our fans, viewing the pilots’ riveting performances.”
It was also announced last week the U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds will headline the 2025 show.
The annual air show is sponsored by Bethpage Federal Credit Union, and this will be the Blue Angels’ 10th appearance as headliners. Last year, over 350,000 people attended the Bethpage Air Show at Jones Beach over three days. The 2020 show was cancelled due to the pandemic.
