Blue Point Brewery is dropping free beer off to local heroes during the health crisis

|

Blue Point Brewing is asking Long Islanders to nominate their neighbors who are doing “great things during the health crisis.”

This includes, but not limited to, local healthcare staff, first responders and frontline workers.

The beer company is dropping off free beer to these local heroes through its Toast Your Hero initiative.

To “toast” someone doing something exceptional during the virus outbreak, create a post about them on social media and tag @bluepointbrewing with the hashtag #TOASTYOURHERO.

Once per week, Blue Point will select someone who will then receive one free meal from the brewpub, a card to redeem a free pint for every brewpub visit during 2020, plus a whole lot of beer. All of this will be dropped off from a Blue Point Brewing Fire Truck.

The program began this Tuesday. And one day later, the first care package was dropped off this week to Maria Kirchner, an ICU nurse at Mather Hospital.

“It sounds like there are a whole lot of people in the area looking to make a big difference,” said a spokesperson from Blue Point. “We’re so excited to do something nice for them.”
