Southampton Town Police responded to a bomb threat emailed that to Southampton Town Justice Court on Thursday morning, police said.
A thorough search of the court and surrounding area by Southampton Town patrol officers, fire marshals, court officers and detectives revealed nothing suspicious, cops said. The New York State Troopers K-9 Unit conducted an additional check, confirming no threat.
The preliminary forensic investigation suggests the email may have originated from outside the country and has no credible link to the justice court. Detectives are continuing their investigation, police said.
