Breeze Airways to begin new service from MacArthur Airport to Ohio

|

It just got a little easier for Long Islanders to fly to the Midwest.

Breeze Airways has added flights from MacArthur Airport to Ohio, which also happens to be the birthplace of aviation.

As part of its “BreezeThru” service which allows passengers to remain on the plane during a brief layover, the new route will stop in Myrtle Beach, S.C, before continuing to Akron-Canton Airport in Green, Ohio.

Total flight time is less than four and a half hours.

The regional airport is less than an hour’s drive from Cleveland, though Columbus and Pittsburgh would still be about two hours away.

Non-stop service from Ronkonkoma to Myrtle Beach was first announced in December, with the airline offering flights twice weekly on Wednesdays and Saturdays. The new service is expected to begin on May 6.

Fares start at $175 each way.

Currently, Breeze’s nonstop destinations from ISP include: Charleston, S.C.; Fort Myers, Fla.; Myrtle Beach, S.C.; Norfolk, Va.; Raleigh-Durham, N.C.; Richmond, Va.; Sarasota, Fla.; Vero Beach, Fla.; and Wilmington, N.C.

Breeze Airways, founded by aviation entrepreneur David Neeleman in 2021, operates more than 300 routes nationwide and was named the Five Star Best Major Airline in North America for 2026 by the Airline Passenger Experience Association.
