The Town of Brookhaven announced today that town playgrounds and playground equipment are closed to the public until further notice, but that its parks remain open for passive activities only.
The town said in a statement that residents in the parks should adhere to the social distancing recommendations issued by the Suffolk County Department of Health Services.
Additionally, Brookhaven closed its dog parks.
“The Town asks that residents please refrain from congregating in groups while corona-related restrictions are in place,” the town said. “Dog Parks will reopen when this public health emergency ends and the Suffolk County Health Department deems it safe.”
