The United States’ first retail ice cream franchise, Carvel Ice Cream, is turning 85 years old.
To celebrate, the Atlanta-based company is offering 85-cent junior size cups and cones at all its locations May 2. The deal will be available from open to close at each store.
“$.85 Cone Day is a way for us to give back to the loyal fans who’ve helped Carvel reach this milestone,” said Nicolle DuBose, senior director of marketing at Carvel.
There are 22 Carvel shops in Suffolk County, including one in Center Moriches on Montauk Highway and another in Shirley along William Floyd Parkway. Click here to see all the locations.
In addition to offering discounted ice cream, Carvel will mark its milestone by donating $10,000 to American Red Cross’ Sound the Alarm campaign.
“Here’s to the next 85!” said DuBose.
