Several changes are coming to the South Port Shopping Center in Shirley.
Councilman Dan Panico said he confirmed with a representative of the property’s owner, Heidenberg Properties, that a Five Below discount store will be taking over space formerly held by Famous Footwear, which has moved to another location in the center.
Construction work was seen underway Thursday.
Additionally, an Ulta beauty supply store will take the space formerly held by Lane Bryant and the current Mattress Firm after the “long-shuttered” laundromat next to McDonald’s on Montauk Highway is torn down and a new location is built for Mattress Firm, according to Panico.
Those plans have already been approved, he said.
A call to the property’s representative was not immediately returned.
