Chip City opens sixth LI location, this one in downtown Huntington

|

The fast-growing cookie company Chip City added another Long Island location to its roster.

Chip City Huntington on Friday opened at 280 Main Street, the former spot of a clothing boutique called Ma Belle.

With the opening, Chip City now counts six locations on Long Island after also opening spots in Merrick, East Northport and North Babylon this year. They also have stores in Oceanside in Garden City, both of which opened in 2022.

The new Chip City will be open every day from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m.

“We are very excited to expand into Long Island,” Theodore Gailas, who co-founded the company, previously told Greater Long Island. “We chose these locations because they are consistent with the communities that our existing locations serve.”

Gailas and his partner, Peter Phillips, grew the chain from one small shop in Astoria to what today is nearly two dozen, mostly located in the boroughs, along with locations in New Jersey, Connecticut, Florida, Maryland and Massachusetts.

“It kind of just grew into this project where we were creating these fun nostalgic flavors,” Gailas told us. “And as we were opening on the weekends just for a few hours a day, we had these lines down the block. People were waiting up to an hour to get in and get some cookies. Slowly but surely it evolved.”

Some of Chip City’s most popular cookie options are chocolate chip, s’mores and cookies n’ cream, along with a variety of their signature filled cookies. So those are a good place to start. Popular filled cookies include peanut butter & jelly, oatmeal apple pie, Nutella sea salt, and blueberry cheesecake. Follow greaterlongisland.com for updates, or Chip City on Instagram.
