Sayville’s Jack Coan and his Wisconsin teammates posted their third shutout Saturday and are now 5-0 heading into next week’s Big Ten tilt against No. 25 Michigan State.
The Badgers quarterback completed 12 of 15 passes for 134 yards and two touchdowns during No. 8 Wisconsin’s 48-0 win at home over Kent State. He didn’t throw an interception.
Coan connected with Heisman Trophy candidate Jonathan Taylor on an 18-yard touchdown pass that left Wisconsin up 28-0 at halftime. Later, the junior found tight end Jake Ferguson in the end zone to stretch the lead to 41-0 with more than eight minutes remaining in the third quarter.

Coan — a legend for Sayville on the football and lacrosse fields — has passed for five touchdowns and run for two others this season. He has thrown just one interception and his 73.7 percent pass completion rate is good enough for 10th best in the nation.
“It always feels good to have a good game, especially in a win,” Coan said during a post-game interview with the media.
