Coffee Barn expanding to the North Shore with new Albertson spot

|

Over-the-top coffee creations like Rainbow Cookie Lattes, Krispy Treat Milkshakes and Dubai Chocolate Matchas are headed to Nassau County’s North Shore.

Coffee Barn, the drive-thru shop in Merrick known for its viral, dessert-inspired drink concoctions, is opening a second location next month in Albertson.

“After a few amazing years in Merrick, we knew now was the perfect time for another store,” Anthony Abatemarco told Greater Long Island.

Anthony is the son of Robert and Christine Abatemarco, who opened the original Merrick Road location in 2022 after purchasing and converting a former Dairy Barn. Two years later, the shop’s s’mores latte went viral on social media — a moment the family says confirmed they had tapped into something special.

Now they’re hoping lightning strikes twice after purchasing another former Dairy Barn on Willis Avenue in Albertson.

For now, the new location will mirror the Merrick menu, offering more than 40 specialty drinks at any given time, Anthony said.

Seasonal additions include an Irish Soda Bread Latte — a vanilla espresso drink topped with a slice of Irish soda bread — and a Lucky Charms Latte, made with espresso, sweet cream and cupcake syrup, finished with whipped cream and Lucky Charms marshmallows.

Not in the mood for coffee? The menu also features treats like a Butterscotch Dirty Soda and a Sweet and Salty Sundae — soft serve topped with pretzels, popcorn, whipped cream, candy and caramel drizzle.

“We saw how much all of our customers on the South Shore were loving our drinks, so we figured why not spread the fun?” Anthony said. “We think the Albertson/Roslyn Heights area is the perfect fit.”

The Albertson shop is expected to open next month.
