Connetquot schools celebrated their students on the move throughout June with socially distanced, “drive-by” moving up ceremonies at its elementary and middle schools.
The ongoing COIVD-19 pandemic forced the re-imagined events to stray from tradition, but the ceremonies delivered the same level of excitement and recognition for the student’s achievements and hard work.
The ceremonies also spurred this really cool photo taken at Ronkonkoma Middle School by Joseph Maniaci for the school district.
The Ronkonkoma Middle School graduation parade took place on June 24. The campus was festively decorated, with pop music playing over the P.A. system.
Parents of the high school-bound teens drove their cars and trucks along the route established by the school.
The parade eventually led to a “goody tent,” where the students received their awards, treats and certificates of completion.
