White Castle attacker wanted for assaulting 76-year-old man in Deer Park

Suffolk Police have released surveillance photos nearly two months after the August attack

Suffolk Police hope the public can help identify a man who attacked a 76-year-old man in the parking lot of a White Castle in Deer Park this summer.

The assault happened on Aug. 26 — a Wednesday — at about 11:47 a.m. in the fast food parking lot at 1690 Deer Park Ave., according to Suffolk County Crime Stoppers. A 911 caller reported the attack, police said.

The victim drove himself to South Shore University Hospital in Bay Shore, where he was treated for minor injuries. Police did not say what led to the confrontation.

Surveillance images released with the alert show a man with short dark hair and sunglasses wearing a black T-shirt with a red graphic on the front, dark shorts with a white logo, and sandals. He is seen carrying a white bag beside a silver vehicle.

Suffolk County Crime Stoppers offers a cash reward for information that leads to an arrest. Anyone with information can submit an anonymous tip by calling 1.800.220.TIPS, through the P3 Tips mobile app, or online at www.P3Tips.com. All calls, texts and emails are kept confidential, police said.
