Democrat vying for Nassau Legislature seat is missing, police say

A 29-year-old Democratic candidate for Nassau County’s 4th District has been missing for four days, Nassau County Police said.

Petros Krommidas was last seen about 9 p.m. Wednesday in Baldwin, cops said. He is described as white; six feet, two inches tall; about 230 pounds; with brown hair and brown eyes. He was last seen wearing a camouflage print sweatshirt and gray sweatpants.

Investigators with Nassau Police’s Missing Persons Squad were alerted about Krommidas’ disappearance Thursday about 7:30 p.m. It is believed that Krommidas, a graduate of Chaminade High School and Columbia University, is in the Long Beach area, authorities said.

Detectives urge anyone with information to call the Missing Persons Squad at 516.573.7347 or dial 911. Callers can remain anonymous.

The Nassau County Democratic Committee posted on Facebook about the candidate’s disappearance, seeking the public’s assistance in finding him.
