Phase 2B at The Core Station Yards

Tritec Real Estate has released renderings for what’s in store next year at the sprawling Station Yards mixed-use community in Ronkonkoma.

All the renderings for what’s being called Phase 2B of The Core Station Yards come courtesy of Tritec, the project’s developers. They were designed by SPECTORCompanies. (Scroll down to see them all.)

Construction on Phase 2B started in the fall and is now fully underway.

New amenities

Once built and ready, Phase 2B at The Core Station Yards will feature a test kitchen, lounge, fitness area, a bike repair and storage room, as well as a large, open gym that’s big enough for half-court basketball.

That’s just the inside.

Outside, you’ll find a heated saltwater pool with a pool pavilion and cabanas (pictured above), fire pits, barbecue stations, a hammock farm (also pictured) electric vehicle chargers and a rooftop terrace.

And since 2B is the next stage of The Core Station Yards, current residents of The Core apartments will have access to the additional amenities. Pre-leasing at 2B is set to start in the spring of 2026, Tritec officials confirmed today.

Station Yards, which used to be referred to as the Ronkonkoma Hub, is being built over 53 acres that all run parallel to the Ronkonkoma LIRR station to the immediate south.

The first buildings went up on the eastern end of the parcels. Collectively, those buildings to the east are called Alston Station Yards, which first opened to residents during the summer of 2019 and comprise 489 units.

To the west is The Core Station Yards, which started welcoming residents in the spring of 2024 and offers 388 apartments

That’s also where the bulk of the project’s restaurant and retail component lies, some 67,000 square feet in total, as well as a parking garage.

Eateries such as Tap Room, Lucharitos and Great South Bay Brewery are already up and operating at The Core Station Yards, with several more on the way, including Toast Coffee + Kitchen and Vespa Italian Kitchen & Cocktails.

A ribbon-cutting was held at The Core Station Yards in October.

That same day, Tritec principals and elected leaders such as Governor Kathy Hochul, a strong advocate for the project, held a ceremonial ribbon-cutting ceremony to the immediate west, for what’s called Phase 2B of The Core Station Yards.

The 2B phase will cost $113 million and introduce another 175 new residential units, including the previously mentioned new amenities, a retail space and second parking structure, according to Tritec. Once Phase 2B is completed in 2026, that’ll bring the total number of units up to 1,052, with more to go.

When everything is fully built out, the redevelopment project will bring 1,450 new apartments to the center of the Island.

“It’s extraordinary in scale, $1.2 billion and over 1,400 housing units, my gosh,” Hochul said in October.
