“Rocky IV” star known for playing Ivan Drago stops in East Northport on Sept. 21
“I must break you,” Dolph Lundgren snarled as Ivan Drago in “Rocky IV.” On Monday, the actor will settle for something much gentler — signing autographs at Gold’s Gym in East Northport.
Lundgren, 68, will be at the East Northport gym from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. to sign copies of his new memoir and meet fans. It’s part of a multi-city U.S. tour tied to his book’s release.
The memoir, “Fights Worth Fighting,” hits shelves Tuesday from Harper Horizon. It digs into the pressures of fame and the toll of decades in a brutal industry, along with what the publisher describes as Lundgren’s private struggles. That includes his battle with cancer and what he says it took to keep going.
Gold’s Gym members can attend the event free; the Gold’s Gym in East Northport is located at 1 Larkfield Road. A limited number of tickets is available for purchase through Northport Books’ website. Copies of Lundgren’s memoir will be available for purchase at the event.
Beyond Drago, Lundgren has built a decades-long career in action films, including the “Expendables” franchise and “Universal Soldier.”
