Where Patchogue meets Blue Point, you’ll find Don Quijote.

No, not the Don Quijote de La Mancha, the man who fought the windmills; that’s a fictional character.

Don Quijote the restaurant.

The owner of Don Quijote in Miller Place, which opened in 2002, says he’s just four weeks from opening a second location in the former Meson Ole´ building at 507 West Main Street.

“Patchogue has got so much going on so we figured to try it in Patchogue,” said Blayker Lopez of Center Moriches. “And actually Blue Point starts at the end of the parking lot. So it’s a good location.”

He only owns the one other Don Quijote, located near Napper Tandy’s on Route 25A.

As for the Patchogue building, Lopez said he signed a lease last month and doesn’t have much work to do other than remodeling the bathrooms and the bar, and a changing up the decor.

“Not a lot of construction,” Lopez said.

He said the menu will stay consistent with his Miller Place location.

“We’re going to have Spanish food for Spain, Mexican, and Latin, from Colombia and the Caribbean,” he said.

And, there will be mariachi music on Thursdays and Fridays.
