Get ready to brush off your favorite costume.
This week’s edition of Alive After Five (Thursday, Aug. 2) is featuring a Cosplay contest.
“Dress up in your favorite character costume and register for great prizes,” writes the Greater Patchogue Chamber of Commerce.
The contest, which is presented by Android’s Amazing Comics, will be held at Capitol One Bank’s Plaza.

- Costumes must be handmade.
- No weapons of any kind are permitted.
- There are two age groups: 5-12 and 13-plus.
- Age group 5-12: There are no categories.
- Age group 13-plus: The contest is superhero and anime themed.

- Check-in is from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m.
- Judging of the younger age group is from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m.
- Judging of age group 13-plus is from 7:30 p.m. to 9 p.m.
