Instead of their trademark blue uniforms, these police officers from Suffolk County’s Sixth Precinct were dressed as superheroes last Friday.
Their mission: to brighten the day of pediatric patients at Stony Brook Children’s Hospital.
This is the third annual year the police department has hand-delivered gifts to pediatric patients.
The day was particularly close to detective Jennifer Fortunato — who dressed as Captain Marvel. Her brother was given presents to last year in the hospital.
“They really brought some happiness to him and put a smile on his face when he wasn’t able to come home for the holidays,” she said in a Facebook video.
