Drift 82 reopens in Patchogue; adds expanded outdoor seating for summer

|

Patchogue’s popular waterside restaurant Drift 82 is back operating after closing recently due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Drift 82 reopened on Thursday and again is serving up to-go cocktails and curbside takeout orders. Click here for the menu.

While closed for the last few weeks, the owners of the restaurant have been game-planning for the summer and life post quarantine.

“While we anticipate changes to how we conduct business, we have the ability to expand our business on the blueprint of our property with plenty of room for social distancing,” said co-owner John Sarno, who runs Drift 82 with his partner, Tim Kelly.

Those plans include a newly designed outdoor area with 12 additional tables, all six feet apart from each other. The new seating will run along the bulkhead (see pictures below).

Valet parking is also in the works, but with a revised plan.

For revelers, the new outside arrangements still leave room for live entertainment for when it’s allowed to return.

“It’s a time we are looking forward to now more than ever before,” said Sarno. “I know many share the same feeling!”

Drift 82’s new hours include Wednesday to Friday 3 p.m. to 9 p.m., Saturday noon to 10 p.m., Sunday noon to 9 p.m., and closed on Monday and Tuesday.

Currently, the restaurant is offering 10% off curbside pickup, and is available for delivery via DoorDash.
