Suffolk cops nabbed two drivers for racing Sunday night on County Road 101 in Medford.

Dillen Anchundia, 21, of Bay Shore was allegedly taking part in an illegal speed contest with Matthew Hirschkind, 21, of Medford near Woodside Avenue about 7 p.m.

Suffolk County Police Street Takeover Task Force members observed a 2018 Audi S4 driven by Anchundia and a 2011 Infiniti operated by Hirschkind zooming south on County Road 101, also known as East Patchogue-Yaphank Road, at more than 90 mph, police said.

A member of the same task force, police officer Brian Gallagher, 35, was critically injured earlier this month while pursuing a speeding a car on the Long Island Expressway. He is being “miraculously” released from Stony Brook University Hospital on Monday, police said, after being treated there for his injuries since the Jan. 5 wreck.

Both drivers on Sunday were issued summonses for unlawful speed contest, speeding and multiple traffic violations, police said. They will be arraigned at Suffolk County Criminal Court at a later date.

The two cars were seized and impounded by police.
