The ooey-gooey creations from Duchess Cookies are now being served at Smith Haven Mall.
This past fall, the popular cookie company expanded to Lake Grove, opening in the mall’s food court—and it’s been a big hit, says Duchess Cookies founder and owner Sofia Demetriou.
“The new location in Smith Haven has been amazing for us,” she told Greater Long Island. “It’s been super busy since we opened the doors, and we have been warmly welcomed by the community. We’re super happy to be there!”
Demetriou started the company in 2017 as an online-only business and opened her first brick-and-mortar shop during the pandemic in Plainview.
“The pandemic definitely gave us a little bit of a boost because, surprisingly enough, people love comfort food and cookies and stuff like that when they’re stressed out,” Demetriou previously told GLI. “So, you know, we thought that ‘oh no, all of a sudden the pandemic hit, we’re done.’ It actually kind of pushed us along even more.”
Her 4.5-ounce cookies are Instagram famous, coming in a variety of flavors and are packed with fun fillings. Check out their spin on the viral Dubai Chocolate Cookie.
Duchess Cookies now operates five locations: Plainview, Oceanside, Garden City (Roosevelt Field Mall), Lake Grove (Smith Haven Mall), and Easton, Penn.
