A Brentwood man dressed like a cop and carrying a stash of weapons was busted outside a Huntington Station bar late Thursday night, Suffolk police said.
Officers from the Second Precinct’s Anti-Crime Unit were patrolling Broadway about 11:40 p.m. when they spotted Eric Diaz in a police-style uniform with a shield and duty belt, police said.
The man appeared to have a holstered firearm, as he stood outside El Cuscatleco Bar, located at 137 Broadway, according to police.
An investigation revealed Diaz, 46, was carrying a holstered Taser, an imitation pistol tucked into his waistband, bear mace, a knife and handcuffs, police said.
Diaz was charged with two counts of third-degree criminal possession of a weapon and acting as a security guard without a license.
He was held overnight at the Third Precinct and is scheduled to be arraigned Friday at First District Court in Central Islip.
