Downtown Farmingdale is preparing to turn into one giant street party once again as “Music on Main” returns for Summer 2026.
The popular free-admission concert series will bring four nights of live music, dining and dancing to Main Street beginning July 9 and continuing every other Thursday through Aug. 20.
Organized by the Farmingdale Business Improvement District, the event has grown into one of the village’s signature summer attractions, drawing thousands of people into Farmingdale’s downtown district each year.
“It’s an unbelievable event,” Farmingdale BID marketing manager Dave Saul told Greater Long Island. “We helped create the event with Joe Fortuna and the Nutty Irishman about eight years ago. Nobody knew what it would be like, and it blew up, surpassing everyone’s expectations.”
Originally designed to help boost traffic for restaurants in Farmingdale’s “Culinary Quarter,” the event has evolved into a full-scale downtown celebration packed with live bands, DJs and family-friendly entertainment.
“There are bands, DJs, family-friendly activities,” Saul said. “Every year, there’s more and more. It’s a complete sea of enjoyment.”
Saul said the event now attracts nearly 10,000 people annually.
