Kiyan Anthony is officially a student at Long Island Lutheran High School.
The top basketball recruit in the Class of 2025 announced on Sunday he would be transferring from Middle Village’s Christ the King High School to play in Brookville.
Kiyan, the 15-year-old son of former Knick great Carmelo Anthony, began classes at his new school on Monday. While he won’t be eligible to play this season for the team, he is allowed to practice, LuHi head coach John Buck told Greater Long Island’s Jamie Stuart.
“I just feel like it was the right decision to come here,” Kiyan said at his first practice with LuHi on Tuesday. “I felt like they were bringing me to a family with the players and coaches. I just felt accepted.”
Kiyan, a 6-foot-5 guard, currently holds college offers from Bryant, George Mason, Memphis and Syracuse, where his father won a NCAA national championship in 2003.
He is currently 62nd best player in his class, according to 247Sports.
LuHi (14-2) is currently the 12th ranked team in the country according to the SBLive/Sports Illustrated Power 25 national rankings.
