Hike in Avalon Park

With its art, architecture and winding pathways through an 8-acre park and preserve, Avalon Park in Stony Brook makes for a romantic and somewhat adventurous way to begin a date for the outdoorsy types.

To finish your date, you can stroll down to Crazy Beans in the historic Stony Brook Village Center (they serve breakfast all day!) and then do a little shopping.

If you’re still not tired from all that walking and hiking, take a trot down to Stony Brook Harbor.
