Free lawn signs thank local essential workers

East End essential workers lawn signs

Notice these lawn signs that popped up in front of East End Sign Design in Mastic Monday?

Well, stop by and pick one up, free charge, thanks to the printing company, with promotional help from the Chamber of Commerce of the Mastics and Shirley.

The signs read “Our Community Loves and Thanks OUR ESSENTIAL WORKERS, and highlights Shirley, Mastic and Mastic Beach.”

“We did it as something to boost morale first this time, because, honestly, we don’t know what else to do,” said shop manager John Dugan. The store printed 200 signs and currently isn’t open to the general public.

Dugan said to avoid contact, East End, which is owned by Joe Collucci, made it easy for people to pick the signs up by putting them outside on its front lawn.

“We appreciate all the essential workers are doing, Dugan said, “whether it’s medical or something else.  “We’re all from here. It’s a way to give back — something positive.”
