Hauppauge Fire Department Chief Stephen A. Feron passed away June 11 during a training session with the Suffolk County Urban Search and Rescue Team. He was 49.
According to the New York Post, he died while participating in water drills.
Chief Feron, was a second generation Hauppauge Fire Department chief, serving from 2018-19. He followed in his father Stephen B. Feron’s footsteps, who also served as department chief from 1985 to 1988.
Feron is survived by his wife Kelly Ann and two children, Anna and Stephen.
The community will be coming together for Feron’s funeral services. Below are the details:
- The funeral will be held Saturday at 9:30 a.m. at St. Thomas Moore Church (115 Kings Highway in Hauppauge)
- The interment follows at St. Charles Cemetery
Donations to the Firefighters Cancer Support Network-NY and/or the Suffolk County Volunteer Firefighters Burn Center Fund Inc. (P.O. Box Box 352 Ronkonkoma, New York 11779) are being accepted in memoriam of Chief Feron.
