The “Greater” news sites shattered their own records for user traffic last month.

The company’s seven sites tallied 704,000 views in February, and attracted 383,000 visitors. The sites were viewed 550,000 times in January, and are on pace to reach 7.5 million views in 2021.

“We’re also just weeks away from unveiling an entirely new website that’s being custom built by Driven Digital of Bohemia,” said Michael White, publisher of Greater Long Island Media Group, Inc.

The new sites will be lightning fast and feature a sleek, modern design with large, easy-to-read fonts and appealing typography.

It will also be easier to navigate news between Long Island communities.

Greater Long Island started in 2015 with greaterpatchogue.com before expanding into the Greater Bay Shore area in 2016 and growing from there.

GreaterSmithtown, the seventh site, launched in October 2021.

By the year’s end, Greater L.I. will have begun covering all of western Suffolk County — and Nassau County communities as well.

“The goal is the same, still,” said editorial director Nicholas Esposito.

“Be the number one source of community news for Long Islanders.”
