GreaterPatchogue won second place in the Best Website category at the Press Club of Long Island gala in Woodbury last week, beating out news behemoth Newsday, which took third place.
News Channel 12 Long Island took top honors for Best Website.
“So we’re definitely in some recognizable company,” said Michael White, the founder and editorial director at Greater Long Island Media Group LLC, publishers of GreaterPatchogue.
“I’m so touched and unbelievably proud,” White continued. “The site is just three years old and, essentially, is populated by a handful of people. And in these awards we’re sandwiched by well-respected, universally known, multi-million dollar news organizations.”

Reporter Nicholas Esposito and filmmaker and Benny Migliorino of Benny Migs Photo in Patchogue teamed up for a 2nd Place win in the Entertainment Video category for Greater Patchogue TV with a sit-down interview with Pat-Med student and America’s Got Talent standout Christian Guardino.

Moving forward, there will be no letting up for Greater Long Island, which also publishes the GreaterBayShore, GreaterBabylon and GreaterPortJeff sites.
“The plan is to beef up the existing sites and all our social media activities within the next year, and expand our footprint across Long Island moving forward,” White said. “But above all, we want to best serve the needs and wants of our readers, residents and the business communities, and be a constructive force on Long Island overall.
“That’s always been the goal and always will.”
