Greek Bites prepares to open new eatery in Mastic

|

Greek Bites Grill & Cafe — already a big time foodie favorite in Moriches — is getting set to open a new eatery on Montauk Highway in Mastic.

Greek Bites’ owner has filed for a change of zoning at 1443 Montauk Highway with Brookhaven Town, in order build a sit down restaurant, Deputy Town Supervisor Dan Panico announced today via his Facebook account. The address was formerly home to the Manor House eatery, which was destroyed by a fire in 2017.

“We might all be speaking and eating a little more Greek soon,” Panico quipped in his Facebook post, “as Greek Bites has filed for a change of zone to build a sit down restaurant on the properties that were formerly the home of the Manor House.”

The deputy supervisor said the town received the application today. It will need to go before the town board, and then town’s planning board.

“After meeting with the owner a few times, I can say assuredly that he was excited and committed to making this happen,” Panico said.

When Panico shared the news, Facebook commenters sounded ecstatic.

“Opa! What great news!” wrote Karen Sonneborn.

Dayna Zamboli Bruno added, “Yes! Please make the process easy for them.”

Greek Bites in Moriches is a popular roadside eatery at 183 Montauk Highway in Moriches, serving up tasty Mediterranean cuisine for lunch and dinner since opening in 2007.
