Grieving sister seeks support after Coram woman’s death at 27

A 27-year-old Coram woman’s sudden passing has left her grieving family seeking support to cover funeral expenses.

Dominique Pillot’s older sister, Jenise Castro, launched a GoFundMe campaign to help with the costs of saying goodbye. The fundraiser had accumulated $3,700 from 42 donations through Thursday morning.

Pillot, remembered for her warm presence and radiant smile, died on March 27. Visitation services were held Wednesday at Michael J. Grant & Thomas A. Marinello Funeral Homes in Coram, followed by a private cremation.

Castro of Ronkonkoma shared her grief in a touching tribute to her little sister.

“My poor mozz stick, how am I supposed to say goodbye? My baby sister, I miss you so much,” Castro wrote on an obituary tribute page hosted by the funeral home. “I would give anything to hear your voice and hold you. I love you always.”

On the GoFundMe page, Castro explained, “I recently lost my younger sister very unexpectedly. I’m trying to raise money for funeral costs to be able to say goodbye.”
