Hand & Stone Massage and Facial Spa officially opened this week at 5801 Sunrise Highway in Holbrook’s Shops at SunVet.
The new location held its grand opening on Monday. It offers massages, facials, and other wellness services, giving visitors another option for self-care while at the mall.
Hand & Stone Massage and Facial Spa has locations across the United States, offering services to members and walk-in clients.
The new spa at Sunvet is led by owner and operator Patrick Martone, who shifted into the wellness world after a 15-year career in advertising and marketing. A former Hand & Stone member himself, Martone said the idea of opening a location grew from his own search for a reliable place to decompress — and a belief that others on Long Island were looking for the same.
That instinct appears to have been right. The Holbrook spa signed nearly 550 founding members before opening day, a figure that sets a 20-year record for the most founding members at any Hand & Stone debut nationwide, the franchise said.
Martone credits the surge to the community’s appetite for accessible, consistent self-care, as well as his own background in building trust, anticipation, and excitement among consumers.
“My goal is to create an experience that our clients crave and look forward to each month,” he said.
‘Feel your best’ message
Hand & Stone veteran esthetician Nechel Spaeth of Bayport said she is “thrilled to announce that I’m officially at the new Hand and Stone Holbrook.”
“If you’ve been needing a little self-care, relaxation, or a wellness reset, come see me!” she posted on Facebook. “I’d love to help you feel your best with the services you deserve.”
The spa tacks on another layer to the mall’s transformation into a vibrant lifestyle center. Earlier this month, SunVet welcomed Wonder, and before that, such big draws as Starbucks, Whole Foods and Nordstrom Rack.
On deck are the likes of Shake Shack and J. Crew. Now, visitors can pause their holiday-time shopping trips to indulge in some self-care.
SunVet has steadily evolved into more than just a shopping center, blending retail, dining and wellness.
