Harbor Crab Co.’s Kris Kringle event is back for its 16th year — and this time it’s going digital.
Each year, the Kris Kringle provides some extra help and cheer to local families during the holiday season.
In past years, carolers have shown up at the doorstep of families struggling during hard times. They ring the bell, sing holiday tunes, and then present gifts and a huge check to help the family get through the winter.
They are unable to go door-to-door delivering presents this year due to COVID-19 restrictions, but the pandemic is not stopping the restaurant from giving back to Long Island families.
Instead, the Patchogue restaurant is accepting donations online through PayPal and Venmo, and in-person at Harbor Crab Co. — located at 116 Division Street in Patchogue.
To donate online, visit the Patchogue Rotary website or Venmo @Patchogue-Rotary with “Kris Kringle” as the message.
Those who would like to donate in-person can drop off gift cards for food, clothing, or toys at the restaurant.
In addition, raffle tickets can be purchased for $20 for a drawing of over 50 prizes to be drawn on Dec. 16.
The goal is to raise $1,000 each day until the raffle drawing on Wednesday.
