Havana Central closes at Roosevelt Field; Times Square stays open

|

After more than a decade of serving up Cuban cuisine at the Rosevelt Field Mall – Havana Central has closed.

The restaurant announced the decision Sunday night on social media: “Unfortunately due to the current business climate, we are unable to remain open.”

Havana Central first opened at the mall in January 2013 and became a popular spot for its vibrant atmosphere and signature dishes like empanadas and Ropa Vieja.

Its flagship location on 46th Street in Times Square will remain open and all gift cards will be accepted, according to Havana Central.

“We are deeply grateful for the many years we had the honor of serving you,” the announcement reads.

“We will miss each and every one of you.”
