Heated igloo comes to Danford’s in Port Jefferson

|

Outdoor dining is now available at this Port Jefferson location.

But instead of a heated lamp, patrons can sit inside this heated igloo (pictured above), now located on Danfords Hotel, Marina & Spa‘s deck.

Dining in heated orbs has quickly caught flames on Long Island, with several eating establishments adding them in recent months, including RHUM in Patchogue and Maxwell’s in Islip.

To our knowledge, this is the first on the North Shore.

Danford’s rolled out this new dining experience last weekend.

Here’s the deal:

The igloo, which seats six people, is available to rent in two-hour increments seven days a week for $150. The price includes two complimentary bottles of champagne, but the diners must spend at least $100 inside the igloo on drinks/food.

To keep things fun, Danford’s will be switching up the decor during the winter seasons.

“Right now it is decorated for Mardi Gras with props and stuff for pictures,” said Lisa Miller, the director of outlets for food and beverage at Danford’s. “In a few weeks, we’ll change the decor to Valentine’s Day and then we’ll pick another theme after that.”
