There’s plenty of chances to catch a Christmas tree lighting ceremony in the Town of Babylon.
Below we created a quick guide to the upcoming festive events.
Town of Babylon
Date: Friday, Dec. 6
Time: 7 p.m.
Location: Babylon Town Hall, 200 Sunrise Highway, Lindenhurst
Details:
The Town of Babylon will be hosting its annual holiday tree lighting, which features performances by Royal Dance Center, along with a parade including the North Babylon Middle School marching band and fire trucks from the North Lindenhurst Fire Department.
There will also be visits by Santa Claus, as well as hot chocolate and cookies.
North Babylon
Date: Saturday, Dec. 7
Time: 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.
Location: Belmont Lake State Park
Details:
The South Shore state park will be transforming into a winter wonderland for its yearly holiday event.
On the front lawn of the Headquarters Building, the Christmas tree lighting will take place.
There will also be visits by Santa Claus, jugglers, ice sculptor, and fireworks.
West Babylon
Date: Saturday, Dec. 7
Time: 5 p.m. to 6 p.m.
Location: 1041 Little East Neck Road
Details:
The West Babylon Chamber of Commerce will be running a parade in the Babylon Town hamlet at 5 p.m. The Christmas tree lighting will take place at 6 p.m.
Amityville
Date: Saturday, Dec. 7
Time: 5 p.m.
Location: Village Gazebo
Details:
The Village of Amityville’s festive tradition includes its tree lighting ceremony, as well as music and dance performances.
There will be visits with Santa and hot chocolate for all.
Lindenhurst
Date: Sunday, Dec. 8
Time: 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.
Location: Village Square Park
Details:
The Village of Lindenhurst will be kicking off its festivities with Santa in the Park from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.
From 2:30 p.m. to 4 p.m., South Wellwood Avenue will be closed from Hoffman Avenue to the former CVS for holiday activities.
The tree lighting and Lindenhurst Fire Department Holiday Parade happens at 4:30 p.m.
Babylon Village
Date: Sunday, Dec. 8
Time: 4 p.m. to 5 p.m.
Location: Argyle Park
Details:
Leading up to the tree lighting, there will be holiday music, s’mores, hot chocolate and bonfire.
There will also be a performance of “The Happy Elf” by the Argyle Theatre, as well as music by the Babylon High School Choir, and visits from Santa Claus.
Copiague
Date: Friday, Dec. 13
Time: 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
Location: Gateway Park
Details:
The Knights of Columbus and Copiague Chamber of Commerce are running its first annual Christmas Parade.
The parade occurs on Great Neck Road with the tree lighting immediately following at Gateway Park at 6:45 p.m.
