Gov. Kathy Hochul will deliver her 2026 State of the State Address on Tuesday at 1 p.m. at the Hart Theatre at The Egg in Albany’s Empire State Plaza.
The governor’s annual address comes at a pivotal moment for New York, just one day after she rallied with union leaders in Suffolk County on Monday to address the Trump Administration’s stop work orders on two fully permitted offshore wind projects under construction.

The governor convened with labor leaders to support workforce stability in the offshore wind sector and advocate for the preservation of jobs threatened by the federal actions.
In her address, Hochul is expected to discuss the following topics:
Protecting kids online: Hochul will announce proposals aimed at keeping New York’s children safe from online threats while addressing the youth mental health crisis she says has been exacerbated by social media and digital platforms.
Preventing gun violence: The governor will present legislation to strengthen New York’s gun laws, including measures to crack down on 3D-printed guns and illegal firearms trafficking.
Investing in universal child care: She will outline new steps to deliver affordable, universal child care statewide.
