House of the Week: Hamptons-style living in Blue Point

|

HOW-BluePoint

It’s hard not to think of the Hamptons. That’s the region that inspired almost everything about this recently remodeled house near the bay on Noble Street in Blue Point.

Its owners spared no Hamptons-like detail in the 2006 overhaul, starting with a pebble driveway in the front yard and an outdoor shower in the back yard. “So, if you come back from the beach you’re all set,” said listing agent Dorrie Hammill of Century 21 Adams Real Estate.

She also pointed out that the home’s finish is of cedar shake, not vinyl.

“Like in Remsenberg, where if you have vinyl siding you actually get fined,” Hammill said.

And just like on the East End, the water is never too far away. In this case, the two-story home has views of the Great South Bay and is a short walk to the public pier and gazebo for fishing.

The interior of the home matches the outside, Hamill said.

“The kitchen is all carrara marble and carrara subway tile,” she said. “The countertops are actually cement and they could be any color you want. That’s the new thing now.”

The home contains plank hardwood floors, tumbled marble, river rock in one of the shower’s and a mahogany porch.

The asking price is $517,000. Click here for more photos and listing details.
