Alex Vargas, a top rising professional boxing prospect from Bellport, is heading to Florida this weekend to put his unbeaten record on the line.
The 8-0 fighter, who has two career knockouts, will be taking on Elliot Brown (2-17, 2 KOs) at the Bryan Glazer Family JCC Auditorium in Tampa on Saturday.
The match is part of Rumble in the Bay 3, a fight card presented by Pier 6 Promotions.

This will be El Toro’s third match in four months. His last fight was Oct. 17 in Lakeland, Fla., where he beat Ayron Palmer (0-5) by technical knockout.
If all goes to plan, Vargas told GreaterPatchogue that he hopes to continue his momentum into 2021 with another match early in the year.
