The highly anticipated exhibition showdown between boxing legend Floyd Mayweather and MMA fighter and boxer John Gotti III of Long Island happens this Sunday, June 11.
Gotti, 30, a grandson of deceased American crime boss John Gotti, idolized Mayweather while growing up in Oyster Bay Cove, but he has said “it will be kill or be killed” when the pair go toe-to-toe inside the FLA Live Arena located in Sunrise, Florida.
The event will be televised by the Zeus network, with the fight card kicking off at 9 p.m. Mayweather and Gotti’s fight is the main event and expected to start around 11 p.m.
You can click here to pre-order the event for $15.99.
This will be Mayweather’s seventh exhibition bout following his retirement from professional boxing. Gotti has experience in combat sports, as well as boxing, winning five of his six fight as a professional MMA fighter and both of his bouts as a pro boxer.
Mayweather, 46, retired from official competition after defeating MMA icon Conor McGregor in 2017. He has continued to box in non-scored exhibitions, including matches with Tenshin Nasukawa, Mikuru Asakura, Deji Olatunji, Logan Paul, Don Moore and most recently, Aaron Chalmers.
Gotti notched a first-round TKO in his most recent fight against Alex Citrowske.
He has said that he’ll be bringing “bad intentions” into the ring against Mayweather.
