Huntington launches ‘Summer in the Streets’ festival series

|

Downtown Huntington’s first-ever summer street festival series is upon us.

“Summer in the Streets,” presented by the Huntington Chamber the Pub and Restaurant Owners (PRO) of Huntington is all set for June 3, July 29, and Aug. 26, all Saturdays, and featuring live music from The Paramount.

“Enough people came together this past winter to finally make this happen!” said co-organizer Frank Antonetti, a PRO group member and an owner of The Rust & Gold and 1653 Pizza Company.

“Huntington is a community that is filled with talented and passionately creative people, so what better way to celebrate such a warm community than spending a few days in the sun with one another?” he said.

The festivals will be held from noon to 5 p.m. on Wall Street, which will be closed to vehicle traffic between Main and Gerard streets throughout the duration of each event. The series will feature outdoor dining with area bars serving alcohol on their front patios, along with food vendors and outdoor setups for other restaurants, according to organizers.

The first event on June 3 is being held in conjunction with the Huntington PUBlic Art Crawl, which involves an artists’ market and pub crawl to support the Huntington art community.
