GLI News Briefs

Update: Jake’s 58 will open at 8 a.m. Tuesday as usual. No delay. Every upgrade was a success, officials said.

Original post: A scheduled overnight system upgrade will temporarily shut down one of region’s busiest gaming destinations this week.

Jake’s 58 Casino Hotel announced it will close at 11:59 p.m. Monday, May 18, as part of a planned hardware upgrade aimed at improving operations and the guest experience.

Casino officials said the work could lead to a delayed reopening Tuesday morning, May 19, though an exact reopening time has not yet been announced.

Guests are being encouraged to check the casino’s website and official social media channels for updates Tuesday morning.

Officials said the temporary closure is part of ongoing infrastructure improvements at the Islandia casino and hotel complex.
