Jimmy John’s sandwich shop coming to Miller Place

|
Jimmy John's is in the works for Miller Place.

A new Jimmy John’s sandwich shop — just Long Island’s fourth — is in the works inside the Aliano Shopping Center on busy Route 25A in Miller Place.

The sign is already up, and interior renovation and design work has begun. When it opens, the shop will mark Suffolk County’s second Jimmy John’s and the first east of the Sagtikos Parkway.

The other Long Island locations are in Huntington Station, Levittown and Baldwin.

Founded in 1983 in the college town of Charleston, Illinois, the fast-growing sandwich chain is known for its “freaky fast” delivery, simple menu and emphasis on fresh ingredients.

Today, Jimmy John’s operates more than 2,700 locations nationwide and is part of Inspire Brands, the parent company of Arby’s, Sonic Drive-In, Dunkin’, Baskin-Robbins and Buffalo Wild Wings. Among Jimmy John’s latest menu additions are toasted Sicilian and three cheese pizza sandwiches.

Last year, Atomic Wings opened its first stand-alone Long Island location in the Aliano Shopping Center.

It’s unclear when the new sandwich shop will open. Greater Long Island reached out to Jimmy John’s for comment but has not yet heard.

This is a developing story. Please check back with Greater Long Island for updates.
