Kevin James adds Mother’s Day show on Long Island

Kevin James says he’s offering the “gift every mother wants” — him, performing comedy on Long Island.

The Long Island comedian and big screen star has just added a Mother’s Day show to his stand-up “Owls Don’t Walk” tour. Pre-sale for the Sunday, May 12, show at The Paramount in Huntington began today at 10 a.m.

James, a Stony Brook native and Ward Melville High School graduate, already is scheduled to kick off his five-month national tour at the same venue on Saturday, Feb. 3.

Local television newswoman Elissa Distefano seemed excited by the announcement, posting “🔥🔥🔥” in the comments section of James’ Instagram post announcing the new date.

Another commenter from outside the state thought for a brief moment that the “King of Queens” actor was talking about a different Huntington.

“Oh golly! I was excited for about half a second because I thought this was Huntington, West Virginia. I would’ve definitely gone there,” @shruha58 posted.

Last month, in response to hot ticket sales, including a sold out May 19 show in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, James added the Feb. 3 Huntington gig and a second show in Lancaster. Similarly, in September 2022 when James’ Jan. 27, 2023, show at the Staller Center for the Arts quickly sold out, he added a second performance at the venue for the following night.

After his show next month at The Paramount, James is scheduled to head south to Birmingham, Alabama, on Feb. 29. The tour also includes stops in Mississippi, Louisiana, Texas, Florida, Connecticut, Massachusetts, Illinois, Indiana, Colorado and Utah.
