Lake Ronkonkoma man charged in fatal attack on his father in Mastic

Sage Arias-Brown, 33, was arrested hours after his dad called 911 to report he’d been stabbed, cops said

A Lake Ronkonkoma man fatally stabbed his father early Monday inside a Mastic apartment, Suffolk Police said.

The victim, Edward Brown, called 911 about 12:30 a.m. to report he had been stabbed inside his apartment in a home on Mastic Boulevard, police said. Cops and Mastic Volunteer Ambulance Company personnel attempted lifesaving measures on Brown, but the 68-year-old man died at the scene.

Shortly later, Suffolk Police Homicide Squad detectives arrested Brown’s 33-year-old son, Sage Arias-Brown of Lake Ronkonkoma. He is charged with second-degree murder.

Arias-Brown remains in police custody and is scheduled to be arraigned Tuesday at Suffolk First District Court in Central Islip.
